Friends Sporting Club is one of the most progressive sports club in Manchester with a steady rise in our stature and activities both in Sports as well in the Cultural and Philanthropic areas involving all communities. The club established in 2005 with a few likeminded friends started playing cricket at Whitworth Park, Rusholme. Later on in summer they moved to Alexandra Park for their regular practice and meeting point. Today the club is registered as an Amateur Non-Profitable Sports Club and charity under HMRC. We are affiliated to ECB (English Cricket Board), LCF (Lancashire Cricket Foundation), GMCL ( Greater Manchester Cricket League) and Sporting Equals. Our membership is open to everyone regardless of religion, race, cast or socio-economic status. We are now an integral part of the Greater Manchester Cricket League with 2 Senior, 4 Junior teams and two girls and ladies soft ball teams in 2019. We host a regular Cricket Coaching Camp for the last 7 years which has given us many young talents. We host an All UK Badminton Tournament in the past 7 years which has been very popular with Badminton enthusiasts. Apart from sports, our Women’s wing organises many cultural events involving the club’s members and children thus providing avenues to showcase their talents. Our annual Awards Ceremony Nite is another stage for recognising unsung hero's of grassroot level sports across Manchester with multi cultural activities, Food Festivals and Charity Events. For all our efforts and good work we were given due recognition by been nominated and awarded with the Club of Year Awards by Manchester City Council and British Malayalee News Portal. We have contributed a number of junior players to Manchester District Cricket Team and Greater Manchester Cricket League.
All our coaches are suitably qualified and some of them have more than 25 years of experience in coaching children.
6 years to 15 years in the coaching camps. Junior Membership: Until 18 years (Non voting membership) with social membership for parents. Senior Membership: Above 18 years Ladies membership: Any age group Social membership: Above 18 years.
