The successful candidate will lead on the development and delivery of Council Facility Strategies and associated National Governing Body Facility Sport Plans, working with a wide range of stakeholders to provide the evidence base for Strategic Plans and development of associated capital projects. 
 
This role will lead on capital investment planning for Sport and Leisure in Manchester, taking forward the Council’s Pipeline Capital Programme for investment. This will be done in a manner that is sustainable and provides the platform for growth, both financial and in local participation.
 
A key focus of the role will include matrix management of internal and external colleagues, as client lead for Capital Projects. To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a proven successful track record in project management in the Sport and Leisure Sector, with experience of managing numerous projects.

The role of the Physical Activity and Movement Officer will be to support the Physical Activity and Movement Manager in designing, creating, and managing new physical activity and movement initiatives. Initially, there will be a focus on deconditioning and seamless pathways as we tackle the impact the pandemic and the numerous lockdowns have had on inactivity levels in older people. The post holder should be creative and have previous experience in project management. They should also be passionate about making a difference, improving health outcomes, tackling health inequalities, and comfortable with testing new ideas and approaches to physical activity and movement in its widest possible sense.
