MCRactive are a not for profit organisation, responsible for driving sport and physical activity across Manchester. Our goal is to inspire and encourage everyone to lead more active and healthy lives.
 
We provide leadership and a common narrative for the sport and physical activity landscape across the city, working with the whole sector.

The successful candidate will be the main finance contact across the wider MCRactive team. Taking the lead on all finance and management accounting tasks and supporting the Head of Central Support across a range of projects and periodic reporting obligations.
 
This role will lead the month-end process and budgeting and re-forecasting processes and reconcile expenditure against successful funding awards, match income accordingly, and tracking against bid submission expectations.

The role is full time (35 hours per week), however requests for part time hours or job share will be considered.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
 
MCRactive are looking for a new CEO to join us at a pivotal stage in our development, advocating the health interests of Mancunians from all walks of life and will be responsible for delivering an ambitious agenda.
 
The new CEO will work closely with our Board and management team in responding to emerging challenges and be at the forefront of innovative methods to drive participation in sports and physical activity across our city.
 
They will oversee an ambitious commercial strategy which includes £150million of capital investment over the course of the next five years to create better places for more residents to be active. In the process, they will tackle health inequalities and establish a framework for healthier living that the rest of the country can look to for inspiration.
 
The CEO to take will take responsibility of leading the organisation and steering it as we look forward to a new era of sports and physical activity in Manchester, removing hurdles to participation and tackling health inequalities.
 
This is a unique opportunity to advocate for the interests of Mancunians from all walks of life, working closely with our Board and management team in responding to emerging challenges, and being at the forefront of innovative methods to spur participation in sports and physical activities at all levels.

CHAIR
 
MCRactive seeks to appoint our first ever Independent Chair of the Board to help us deliver more positive health outcomes for the people of Manchester.
 
Working closely with our new incoming CEO and other members of the Board and executive, the Chair will play a critical role in helping deliver our strategy as well as engaging with key partners and external stakeholders.
 
Providing invaluable support, they will help us to ensure impact within the organisations and communities we serve.
 
The Chair of MCRactive will provide strategic leadership to the Board once appointed and support the new CEO in delivering our ambitious strategic vision and lead the execution of Manchester’s 10-year Sport and Physical Activity Strategy (2019 to 2028) – the most extensive public consultation exercise ever undertaken by the city– with a view to creating improved outcomes for sport, physical activity, and health and wellbeing.
