We have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to join our Finance, Risk and Performance Sub-Committee, bringing skills, experience and passion to contribute to the next stage of our extremely exciting and rewarding journey.  If you’re committed to using your corporate skills to improve the lives of the people within Manchester then we want to hear from you. 
 
Manchester Active are a not-for-profit organisation established by Manchester City Council and overseen by both Manchester City Council and Sport England, here to inspire and encourage people to lead a more active lifestyle.  Our mission across the city is to “work with the whole sport, physical activity and health sector to encourage and inspire all Mancunians to move more each day.” 
 
The Finance, Risk and Performance Sub-Committee plays a vital role in our Governance structure. With detailed oversight of Manchester Active’s financial, people related and governance activities, it assures our main Board that we are fulfilling our objectives, whilst maximising value for money and addressing any risks. 
 
The role is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional to develop skills and experience in a non-executive role. 
 
We welcome applications from those with ACA, ACCA or CIPFA qualifications and are particularly interested in hearing from you if have a passion for sport and health or Manchester in general. 
 
Your most important quality will be a commitment to using your skills to improve the lives of the residents of Manchester. 
 
This is a volunteer position (expenses will be paid) with meetings taking place virtually, four to five times per year (between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday).  The role is for a term of 3 years with the option to re-elect.

As part of our continuing expansion, Manchester Active is now looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working individual with shared values to become part of our growing team.
 
The successful candidate will lead the strategic direction of  Manchester Active’s Digital Infrastructure in line with the strategic objectives of the company, ensuring effective implementation of all digital projects including cultural change, business process re-engineering, staff training and digital skills, while positioning Manchester Active as an exemplar organisation in the use of latest digital technologies to deliver its services with the potential to lead to wider adoption across the business support provider market.
 
The role is full time (35 hours per week) however requests for part time hours or job share will be considered.
 
The starting salary for this position is £44,428.
