MANCHESTER ART GALLERY & THE HOLIDAY ACTIVITY FUND
Manchester Art Gallery (MAG) is preparing to play a role in the summer holiday period to contribute to the goals of the Holiday Activity Fund, namely to provide a nutritious meal to the city’s school children who are eligible for Free School Meals. MAG has experience of delivering fun and creative activities at the gallery, Platt Hall and at a variety of other settings. We have a team of freelance artists and creative practitioners who can work up a range of different activities. We are eager to work in partnership with other providers to deliver a balanced programme and nutritious meal that will be attractive to young people and their parents.
WHAT CAN WE DO? With 20 years experience of working with children, families, schools and young people, we’ve built up a panel of freelancers who have developed their practice with MAG or on the gallery’s behalf. These creative individuals have delivered activities that include print-making, photography, portraiture, art in nature, and various crafts. We can focus on any age group, but are best skilled working with similarly aged groups.
OPTIONS? For the summer of 2022, we can:
- Deliver sessions at a partner’s venue, supplying that materials and lead artists
- Deliver sessions (morning or afternoon) at MAG that partners can send groups too. We can include the nutritious meal as part of this option
- Deliver sessions at Platt Hall and Platt Fields, in partnership with another local provider.
