Please wait while we create a summary for this..!
Blackley Forest is a site of biological importance and a fine example of one of the country's first Community Woodlands. Planted to commemorate fallen soldiers of the Second World War, the Forest is a diverse mix of woodland, grassland and wetlands, dissected by a well established network of paths and steps with the River Irk running through. The forest is a 5 minute walk from the Victoria Avenue bus stop via the 59 bus. For more information on transport, the excellent Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) website contains route planners, to find your way from anywhere in Manchester, as well as downloadable timetables.
