Bought by the City Council in 1904 for use as a public park, the park today retains its original Victorian bandstand. The Park has a public car park for visitors and is located a 15 minute car journey away from the city centre. There are also buses (76) running every 10 minutes with a bus stop a 1 minute walk from the park entrance. For more information on transport, the excellent Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) website contains route planners, to find your way from anywhere in Manchester, as well as downloadable timetables.
