We're delighted to announce that our Sport Is Back festival will be taking place in Manchester this Summer!
The event will run throughout the city on the last two weekends of July (24, 25 31 July and 1 August). There will be approximately 10 different sports which will be hosted and promoted by different clubs. The events will range from competitive competitions, to turn up and play sessions. This it is a great opportunity to celebrate the return of sport without any restrictions in place and a chance for the clubs to showcase their sport and to attract new members.
Sport Is Back will be open to other clubs, individuals and the inexperienced. See below for more information on the dates, venues and booking process for the specific sports.

Working in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, the Manchester Giants, Manchester Mystics and the Manchester Magic will be hosting taster sessions for boys and girls interested in learning about the sport of basketball.
These sessions will take place at MMU's fantastic Platt Lane Sports Complex (Yew Tree Rd, Fallowfield, Manchester M14 7UU) and will be run by qualified coaches. Balls will be provided and each child will receive an hour of expert coaching.

In case you weren't aware, the Manchester Giants are the city's only professional basketball team and play in the BBL, while the Manchester Magic and the Manchester Mystics run one of the most successful junior programmes in the country and have won more than 50 national titles since 2000.

Have you served in the armed forces? If so, then come to Debdale Outdoor Centre’s Veterans Family Day and get on the water with; dingy Sailing, wind surfing and paddle sports. Debdale will provide wetsuits, buoyancy aids and Instructors making sure you have a great experience on the day. What you need to bring is a t-shirt old trainers to wear with wetsuit and shower kit for after the session. Wetsuits available for 6 years of age to adult. Up to 30 – 40 available spaces on the water, children under 6 are welcome too, but they may not be able to join the water sports. On the day you can also try archery, with Gold Crest Archers on hand to show you how it’s done.

CITY OF MANCHESTER WATER POLO CLUB
The City of Manchester Water Polo Club is one of the most recently successful Water Polo clubs in the UK. The Club compete in the British Water Polo league and all ASA National Age Group championships.
The club runs Senior, Junior and Academy squads for men and women.
The squads enjoy excellent training facilities at Manchester Aquatic Centre and East Manchester Leisure centre.
COM Water Polo Club will be hosting a two taster sessions:

Ages 8-16 - Sunday 1 August 12-1pm

MANCHESTER SHARKS
Founded in 2007, the Manchester Sharks are the North of England’s first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender water polo club. Manchester Sharks compete in a local league, attend and compete in national and international gay tournaments and participate in some of the world’s largest sporting events.
MAC DIVE TEAM
Located at the Manchester Aquatics Centre, the MAC Dive Team has members of all ages who are coached to the highest level. Over the years the diving club has had many successes in numerous competitions. The club have affiliations to GBDF (Great British Diving Federation) and the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association).
The MAC Dive Team will be hosting taster sessions for ages 5-16 years on Sunday 1 August 1-2pm
